Packers’ Christian Watson receives big news before Week 17 Ravens game
Packers' Christian Watson in disbelief of Bears' decision midgame in Week 14 matchup 1 Green Bay Packers wide receiver Christian Watson (9) runs the ball in for a touchdown during a football game against the Chicago Bears on Dec. 7, 2025, at Lambeau Field in Green Bay, Wis. The Packers defeated the Bears 28-21.

Green Bay Packers star wide receiver Christian Watson had quite a journey back from his ACL injury. And for that, his team honored his perseverance by giving him the Ed Block Courage Award.

Watson got the honor via player votes. It recognizes the courage he exemplified as he worked his way back to playing football again after such a devastating knee injury, which he suffered in Green Bay’s final regular-season game against the Chicago Bears in the 2024 campaign.

“It means a lot for sure,” Watson said of being named the recipient of the award, per Mike Spofford of Green Bay’s official website. “Anytime you get any kind of recognition for the work that you put in, I feel like it definitely just brings a little bit more to it for sure.

“Obviously just to have been through that, that was tough in itself and I’m reaping the reward of just being able to go out there and play. It definitely means a lot as well just to be recognized for that work that I put in.”

Watson continues to be a key performer for the Packers

The former North Dakota State star has been a valuable part of Green Bay’s attack since he returned to action. In nine games played thus far in the 2025 season, the 26-year-old Watson has amassed a total of 498 passing yards and five touchdowns on 30 receptions and 49 targets. With two games left in the regular season, Watson still has a chance of setting a new career-high in touchdowns in a season. His current best mark is seven touchdowns, which he had in his 2022 rookie campaign.

Of course, the main focus for Watson at the moment is not on getting more individual accolades, but on helping Green Bay clinch a spot in the NFL playoffs, which the Packers can accomplish with a win or tie against the Baltimore Ravens this coming Saturday at Lambeau Field.
