In all likelihood, the Philadelphia Eagles are going to trade A.J. Brown at some point after June 1, and the Packers may be able to benefit from Howie Roseman’s offensive makeover.
If the Eagles do move on from Brown, adding a playmaking wide receiver could become a top priority and could make GM Brian Gutekunst and Green Bay a natural trade partner.
Over at AtoZ Sports, analyst Adam Holt argues that Packers wide receiver Dontayvion Wicks could be a natural replacement for Brown, in Philadelphia, and fascinating trade target for the Eagles to consider.
“Philly already added both Hollywood Brown and Elijah Moore during free agency, but that shouldn’t prevent them from making another acquisition at WR if the value makes sense,” Holt writes. “Since the Birds lost Jahan Dotson during the FA period, Wicks can come in and play a role next season alongside DeVonta Smith and the other depth options at the position.”
Wicks still has significant upside, and perhaps the Packers would be more inclined to hold onto him, after losing Romeo Doubs via free agency to the New England Patriots. However, if the Eagles offer a Day 2 pick for Wicks, it could be the kind of asset Gutekunst views as a building block to keep plugging holes across the roster.
