The Green Bay Packers got a clear and encouraging update on Micah Parsons this week, as the standout pass rusher successfully underwent surgery to fix a torn ACL he suffered earlier in the month.
Parsons suffered the injury on December 14 against the Denver Broncos, abruptly cutting short a productive but turbulent season. Two weeks later, he took a major step in his recovery by having surgery on his left knee. The procedure went smoothly, and the linebacker shared a brief, positive update on social media soon after.

“Today went amazing!!! LFG!!” the Packers star defensive end wrote on X (formerly Twitter).
The injury, however, sidelines Parsons for the entire postseason, dealing a major setback to a Packers team that had gained momentum late in the season thanks to its pass rush. The surgery removes him from the remainder of this year’s games and raises questions about his readiness for the start of the 2026 season.
Parsons played in 14 games for the Packers in 2025, racking up 41 total tackles and 12.5 sacks, numbers that closely matched his 2024 performance with the Dallas Cowboys.
The next season is projected to start about nine months after Parsons’ successful surgery. While many players typically return within that timeframe, no official timeline has been set, and a clearer outlook will emerge as post-surgery assessments and rehab milestones progress.
In the meantime, Parsons will dedicate himself entirely to rehab, while the Packers battle through the playoffs without one of its most disruptive defenders. His short message reassured fans, but the real test will come over the next several months as he works to reclaim his spot as a cornerstone of the Packers’ defense heading into 2026.
