Packers’ De’Vondre Campbell Viciously Defends Jordan Love

The Green Bay Packers are set to begin preseason action against the Cincinnati Bengals and all eyes will be on new starting quarterback Jordan Love. Some have been very high on his ability to take over for Aaron Rodgers, while others have bashed him aggressively. Despite all of the haters, Love is simply focused on the task at hand, which is winning football games as a team.

No one should be expecting the young quarterback to come in and make it look like Rodgers never left. In fact, anyone with those expectations are off their rocker. However, Love can become his own quarterback and make plays and certainly has the backing of his teammates.

After NFL analyst Adam Schein brutally ripped into Love, even going as far as to say that Love “can’t play football,” star linebacker De’Vondre Campbell viciously fired back in defense of his quarterback.

“Ain’t no way you just got on here with that baggy a** Steve Harvey suit and them thick a** dollar tree glasses and disrespected my QB by saying he can’t play football,” Campbell tweeted. “He only has one career start let him play at least half a season before you open your big dumb a** mouth.”

To say that Love at least has the respect of his teammates would be an understatement. Players have been coming out talking very openly about their love for Love. Many believe that the team will not skip a from a competition perspective despite losing one of the best quarterbacks to ever play the game.

In his first few years with the Packers, Love has only played in 10 games. Most of those appearances were very brief as well.

Love has completed 60.2 percent of his pass attempts for 606 yards, three touchdowns, and three interceptions. He has also picked up 26 yards on the ground.

No one knows what to expect from Jordan Love this season with the Packers. He could end up shocking the NFL and becoming a rising star at the quarterback position. On the flip side, he could completely flop and have an awful season.

All of that being said, the media needs to give Love a chance before deciding on what kind of player he is going to be. De’Vondre Campbell has had enough and so have the Packers. Week 1 cannot get here soon enough.
