With wins in tow over the Minnesota Vikings alongside a sweep of the division-rival Detroit Lions, the Packers control their own destiny in the race for the NFC North Division championship.
If the Packers manage to sweep their season-series with the current division-leading Chicago Bears, beginning Sunday afternoon, Green Bay is going to land the NFC North crown and accompanying home playoff game.
In a league where parity has become the hallmark this season, the Packers seem to be peaking at exactly the right time.
Over at NFL Media, Eric Edholm pushes Matt LaFleur’s club into the top-five of his latest power rankings, following Green Bay’s Thanksgiving win in Detroit.
“Jordan Love delivered a gem of a game in Detroit,” Edholm writes, after bumping Green Bay up two slots. “If he and the offensive line can play up to that level from here on out, the Packers are going to be a very tough team to deal with come January. The defense has had its hands full a few times but has kept scores relatively low and delivered some knockout performances. There aren’t too many complete teams in the league in 2025, but the Packers are pretty close to that ideal at their best.”
Green Bay certainly has the pieces; a young and ascending quarterback, wide receivers that are getting healthier and more effective in big spots, and a swarming front-seven on defense, to make a run.
The schedule is among the most daunting in the league, but Green Bay looks up to task to survive the gauntlet.
