Packers Get Major Aaron Rodgers Update Ahead of 2025 Reunion

After signing with the Pittsburgh Steelers, longtime Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers has a chance to do something few QBs have done before him.

A Week 8 matchup between the Steelers and Packers offers Rodgers a chance to become just the fifth quarterback to defeat all 32 teams in the NFL, joining Brett Favre, Peyton Manning, Tom Brady and Drew Brees, with a win over the Packers.

It's a feat akin to a decorated 20-year career that has included 10 Pro Bowl appearances, four All-Pro mentions, four MVP honors and a 2011 Super Bowl victory.

Readying for his 21st season in the league, Rodgers made an announcement that has raised the stakes of the Week 8 reunion.

Appearing on a June 24 episode of "The Pat McAfee Show," Rodgers revealed that the 2025 season is likely his last ride in the NFL -- meaning no return to Lambeau Field.

Instead, he'll have just one chance to beat the Packers when they visit Pittsburgh in Week 8.

"Yeah, I'm pretty sure this is it," Rodgers said. "That's why we just did a one-year deal. Steelers didn't need to put any extra years on that or anything, so this was really about finishing with a lot of love and fun and peace for the career that I've had."

"I played 20 fricking years. It's been the long run. I've enjoyed it, and no better place to finish than in one of the cornerstone franchises of the NFL with Mike Tomlin and a great group of leadership and great guys in the city that expects you to win."

Rodgers has not returned to Lambeau Field since he was traded to the New York Jets in 2022.

While a game in Green Bay would be a poetic ending for the future Hall of Famer, he can rest his hat on facing both his former teams this season with a Week 1 matchup against the Jets also on the books.
