Packers get some positive news after losing Micah Parsons

The Green Bay Packers were dealt a major blow on Sunday when Micah Parsons suffered what is believed to be a torn ACL, but the team has gotten some positive news on another key player.

Wide receiver Christian Watson exited Green Bay's 34-26 loss to the Denver Broncos on Sunday after he was injured while trying to catch a deep pass from Jordan Love early in the second half. Watson fell hard on his left shoulder and appeared to be in significant pain as he remained down on the field.

Watson did not return to the game, and there was speculation that he may have suffered some sort of serious shoulder injury or broken collarbone.

Broncos cornerback Pat Surtain II came away with an interception on the play.

Christian Watson gets some promising news

Watson was taken to a hospital in Denver for tests, and it sounds like most of them have come back negative. He had his lungs examined and a CT scan that did not show anything concerning, according to ESPN's Rob Demovsky. Watson also does not have any broken bones or ligament damage.

It is unclear if Watson will be able to play in Green Bay's Week 16 game against the Chicago Bears on Saturday, but there is reportedly no long-term concern with his latest injury.

Christian Watson has boosted Green Bay's offense

Watson missed the first six games of the season while recovering from a torn ACL he suffered late last year. His importance to the Packers offense cannot be overstated, especially with tight end Tucker Kraft out for the season due to a knee injury.

In eight games this season, Watson has 28 catches for 481 yards and five touchdowns. He is Green Bay's best deep threat and consistently softens defenses to open up underneath routes for Love. Watson is also one of Love's most trusted red-zone targets.

The Packers fell to 9-4-1 with their loss to Denver. With Parsons likely out for the remainder of the season, Green Bay cannot afford significant injuries on either side of the ball. Fortunately, Watson does not sound like he will miss much — if any — time down the stretch.
