Packers' Jaire Alexander has huge prediction for rest of season

Green Bay Packers cornerback Jaire Alexander is feeling very bullish about the team’s chances for the rest of the season.

Speaking to the media on Friday, Alexander boldly predicted that the Packers would win out the rest of the way, making clear that he was calling it pretty much a guarantee.

“I’m not going to say I’m a prophet, but I called it. I said we were going to win out,” Alexander said.

While this is far from the first time a player has predicted anything like this, Alexander has a plausible path to being correct. Green Bay’s next three games — at the New York Giants, at home to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and at the Carolina Panthers — are all very winnable contests. They then close the season with a trip to Minnesota to face the Vikings before concluding the year at home against the Chicago Bears. It is quite possible that the Packers will be considered favorites for all of those games.

The Packers have reason to feel confident. They have won three straight, including wins over the Lions and Chiefs, even if the latter came under controversial circumstances.

Alexander has not played since Week 9 due to a lingering shoulder injury but is thought to be on his way back. He’ll be returning to a very different team since he did not sound particularly optimistic about them a couple of months ago.
