Jayden Reed’s 2024 season had its share of highs and lows. He led all wide receivers with at least 50 targets in passer rating (137.5) when targeted. However, he tied for second-most drops with 10. There is a Brazilian expression, “8 or 80,” meaning someone swings from one extreme to the other with no middle ground — that perfectly sums up the year Reed had.
Reed’s struggles were just part of a bigger problem with the Green Bay Packers’ receiving group. They ended 2024 with the third-most drops in the league and struggled to get open against man coverage.

General Manager Brian Gutekunst brought in some new faces this offseason — drafting Matthew Golden and Savion Williams, plus signing Mecole Hardman in free agency. More competition in the receiver room should push everyone to step up and perform better on the field.
Amid those additions, ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported that Reed’s agent, Drew Rosenhaus, met with the Packers to discuss the wide receiver’s role. When speaking to the media during the first week of OTAs, Reed addressed the situation publicly for the first time since the report came out.
"A lot of people misinterpreted that," Reed said.

“I hired a new agent [Rosenhaus], and we talked about it before even the draft, really, that he said he was going to talk to the front office and everybody here to just catch up and make sure everybody’s on the same page. As a new client, he told me that’s the way he was going to do it, and he did it."
Reed also shared that the meeting was supposed to remain confidential.
“Now, I don’t know how it got out, because it was supposed to be confidential. But that’s how it goes sometimes. People get a different perception; they make their own perception, which is OK. That’s how it goes sometimes.”
Jayden Reed is one of the most versatile weapons the Packers have on offense. He led the team in receptions and receiving yards over the last two seasons, but like much of the receiving corps, he’ll need to turn the page after an underwhelming 2024 campaign. Still, he has the tools and the talent to get back on track in 2025.
