Matt LaFleur couldn’t commit to an answer earlier this week, but Saturday’s Jayden Reed announcement is all Green Bay Packers fans wanted to hear.
Jayden Reed is back. The Packers added him to the 53-man roster and he’s expected to play tomorrow vs. Chicago for the first time since Week 2.

Having Reed back, even in limited fashion, will do wonders for a Green Bay offense starved for yards after the catch and additional threats in the receiver room.
In an addendum to the Reed news, however, came an unsurprising but also unanticipated update regarding Malik Heath. The third-year receiver is no longer a Green Bay Packer.
Demovsky commented the following roster move below the original Reed post:
They also claimed DL Quinton Bohanna off waivers from the Seattle Seahawks and released WR Malik Heath.

It’s not exactly a shocking announcement. Heath hadn’t caught a pass since Week 9 versus Carolina. Two weeks later, the Packers left him home while the team traveled to New York. It was listed as a coach’s decision, with no further elaboration.
Whatever happened – coach’s decision reads a lot like “discipline” – Heath clearly fell out of favor. Who is Quinton Bohanna? The team just signed defensive tackle Jordon Riley off the Giants’ practice squad. Brenton Cox Jr. is back in practice, opening his three-week window to be activated from injured reserve. Did the Packers really need to add Bohanna?
Obviously, they don’t feel they need Heath with Reed back on the field. Probably, they don’t. His lone target against Detroit was his first since the Panthers game. On the season, Heath has six catches for 86 yards. Nearly half those yards came on a 37-yard catch back in Week 2. He hasn’t been a factor.
Reed definitely will be as a source of badly needed yards after the catch as well as production from the slot. The whole Heath business is a bit odd, but Reed’s return is the much bigger piece of news as they suit up for a pivotal Week 14 matchup against the Bears.
