The Green Bay Packers got a sudden scare on Thursday when rising Jordan Love target and tight end Tucker Kraft suffered a knee injury during practice.
Kraft just had a huge performance in the Packers’ Week 2 win against Jayden Daniels and the Washington Commanders and looked as though he’s truly announced himself as one of the best tight ends in the league today, so the news of his injury gave Green Bay fans a jolt.
Fortunately for Kraft and his team, he did not suffer a serious injury, which was reportedly just a tweak.
Green Bay is already without two talented wide receivers in Christian Watson and Jayden Reed, so the last thing the team would want to hear is another Jordan Love key target going down with a major injury.
Love was full of praise for Kraft on Thursday, while speaking to reporters. The quarterback said that he loves seeing Kraft’s confidence finally translate into success on the field.
I think for Tuck it’s just that confidence, Love said of Tucker on Friday, per Dave Schroeder of WBAY-TV. He knows who he is out there, and he’s going out there and just playing fast and making plays and, you know, I think the play style is something that we’ve seen since his first couple of snaps in that Chargers game when he caught a flat route and makes guys miss and hurdles people and scores a touchdown.
Added Love:
“So I think the play style that he’s playing with, I think that’s always been there. I think it’s just now the bank reps and the built-up confidence for, you know, the consistency that he’s playing with and just going out there and doing it day in and day out. So, you know, I love what he’s doing. He’s playing really fast. He’s making big-time plays, and he’s always been a reliable guy.”
The hope for the Packers is that Kraft will not need to miss this coming Sunday’s date with the Cleveland Browns. If he gets ruled out, Luke Musgrave should be ready to step up as well as the likes of rookie Matthew Golden, Romeo Doubs and Dontayvion Wicks.
