Green Bay Packers quarterback Jordan Love is flying under the radar this season while his defense steals all the headlines.

Jeff Hafley’s Packers defense has been stellar in the opening two games, crushing two strong NFC contenders in the Detroit Lions and Washington Commanders.

While they say defense wins championships, someone has to score more points than the other team, and Jordan Love has been doing exactly that.

In the thrashing of the Commanders, Love threw for 292 yards and two touchdown passes, linking up with tight end Tucker Kraft effortlessly.

The Green Bay Packers quarterback is in elite company to kick off this season, ranking among the likes of Josh Allen and Lamar Jackson in one key advanced statistic.

Jordan Love ranks fourth on Adjusted EPA per Play Leaderboard in 2025

Jordan Love ranks fourth out of 34 NFL quarterbacks to have played this season in terms of Adjusted EPA per Play, behind Jackson in third, Allen in second, and Dak Prescott in first!

The Dallas Cowboys quarterback has been excellent so far this year, and it is unsurprising to see him at the top of the list. The same applies to Love.

Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes’ rough start to 2025 sees him all the way down in 11th, just below Drake Maye in 10th.

Adjusted Expected Points Added per Play sees the overall EPA adjusted for pass protection, receiver drops, dropped interceptions, fumble recoveries, and interception returns.

It gives credit for expected yards after the catch only and accounts for defenses faced. So far, Love has played a talented Detroit Lions defense, and the Washington Commanders are just as good, if not better.

Love missed two throws to young rookie Matthew Golden that the pair would be desperate to get back if they could, as it could have spelled two touchdowns.

However, it just shows that Love is performing to a very high level to be in the company of Prescott, Allen, Jackson, and Matthew Stafford, who have all started the year very well.

The dropoff after Sam Darnold in sixth place, another welcome addition considering his career story, is considerable, with Justin Herbert quite a way back in average score.

Green Bay Packers QB Jordan Love is the quarterback on a Super Bowl-capable team

The Packers’ trade for Micah Parsons surprised Jordan Love, but his immediate reaction was not that it would transform them into a Super Bowl team. He thought it bolsters an already strong Super Bowl contender.

It has the likes of LT Rasheed Walker saying they could go the whole season undefeated, which is precisely what a quarterback wants to hear from the man protecting his blindside.

With all due respect to Love, the main thing that could derail them is injuries or poor quarterback play. Love is a good quarterback, but he isn’t near the elite tier just yet.

There is still a long way to go in this season for the Packers, including playing the Philadelphia Eagles and the Baltimore Ravens down the stretch, but the manner of the 2-0 start is getting Packers fans excited.

Jordan Love has all the weapons on both sides of the ball to make a deep run, and now a lot of it relies on him to keep delivering, as those stats show he has been so far.
