Packers’ Matt LaFleur lays out 1 big bye week priority amid winless streak
Green Bay Packers: 2 Reasons Matt LaFleur Just Hit the Brakes on Practice 3 Green Bay Packers running back MarShawn Lloyd (32) rides a fan’s bicycle to practice during the first day of training camp on Wednesday, July 23, 2025, at Ray Nitschke Field in Ashwaubenon, Wis.

The Green Bay Packers are not yet at 100 percent, at least in terms of their roster’s health. That was very much apparent in Week 4’s 40-40 tie with the Dallas Cowboys in Arlington, with Green Bay missing starters on the offensive line, among others. But with several days of extra rest thanks to a bye in Week 5, Green Bay players are getting ample time to get their bodies right again for the next game.

Packers head coach highlights team’s health amid bye week

Green Bay played the Cowboys without offensive linemen Zach Tom, Anthony Belton and Aaron Banks due to injuries.

They were also without wide receiver Jayden Reed, who’s been put on injured reserve after surgeries following Week 2’s win against the Washington Commanders. Injuries have been a headache to deal with for Green Bay, though, the team still managed to keep its head above water with a 2-1-1 record through four weeks.

For head coach Matt LaFleur, getting healthy is a major point of emphasis for the team, especially since the Packers’ bye is in the early portion of the season.

Green Bay’s depth in some positions can be expected to improve in the coming days and weeks. Wide receiver Christian Watson, running back MarShawn Lloyd, offensive linemen Jacob Monk and John Williams and defensive end Collin Oliver are said to be eligible to be off the physically unable to perform list or injured reserve, per Zach Kruse of Packers Wire.
