Micah Parsons is embarking on a new journey in the NFL following the trade heard ’round the world on Thursday.
The Dallas Cowboys dealt Parsons to the Green Bay Packers in a ground-shaking swap that also moved veteran nose tackle Kenny Clark and a couple of future picks in the first round of the 2026 and 2027 NFL Drafts.
The dust in the wake of that trade has yet to settle, but what’s clear is that Parsons is indeed now in Green Bay’s fold. Defensive coordinator Jeff Hafley must have yet to wipe the smile off his face, as his defense is set to enjoy the services of the devastatingly talented pass-rusher.
One concern about Parsons, however, is whether he’ll be sharp right away. His holdout in the offseason meant he didn’t get enough time on the field to practice within a team setup.
On Friday, Parsons stood behind the podium for the first time since becoming a Packer. Parsons, who signed a four-year, $188M contract, said what he told a former college teammate as he looks to return to the field following a long saga with the Cowboys.
Via Matt Schneidman of The Athletic:
"Micah Parsons is close with Rasheed Walker since they were Penn State teammates. Parsons told the Packers LT to prepare for an intense practice week.
"'I ain’t put my hands on somebody in so long.'"
Walker can use some reps facing Parsons, a fellow ex-Penn State Nittany Lions star. Although Walker is viewed as the starting left tackle, Jordan Morgan is still a threat to be the starter in that position. Walker and Parsons played together for two seasons at Penn State.
