Packers OC Adam Stenavich has previous history with team

After former Packers offensive coordinator Nathaniel Hackett was recently hired by the Denver Broncos, Green Bay was in need of a new face to take over the role. More like a familiar face. Adam Stenavich had been an offensive assistant with the Packers for the last three seasons. He performed the role of offensive line coach from 2019 until 2021. This offseason, he was promoted to the role of offensive coordinator. He was the clear choice for the job due to his familiarity with the organization and his experience coaching offensive lines. But his familiarity with the organization could very well be the most significant. 

Stenavich grew up in Marshfield, Wisc. After a successful college career at Michigan (two All-Big Ten seclections as a left tackle), Stenavich went undrafted in 2006. He would later be signed to the Green Bay Packers practice squad in 2006 after a brief practice squad stint in the preseason. Green Bay designated him to play in NFL Europe in 2007, and Stenavich was drafted in the first round by the Amsterdam Admirals. After one season, he returned to the Packers but was later cut before the 2008 season. He would go on to play for the practice squads of the Dallas Cowboys and Houston Texans before retiring in 2011.

His relationship with quarterback Aaron Rodgers is great because the two played together as backups and reserves during the 2006-2007 season. His experience around Green Bay and his time spent coaching the likes of All-Pro left tackle David Bakhtiari, former Packers All-Pro center Corey Linsley, Pro Bowl Guard Elgton Jenkins, etc, signifies that he is ready for a larger coaching role. The quarterback room should get very interesting during the week with all of the brainpower in it. Rodgers, Stenavich, QB Coach Tom Clements (30 years of coaching experience) and head coach Matt LaFleur, who is the play-caller, will all have great input on where the offense goes this season. 

Stenavich is a brilliant offensive mind and has a great opportunity to further his legacy in Green Bay. His first goal is to figure out how to create a dynamic offense without All-Pro receiver Davante Adams and speedster Marquez Valdes-Scantling. All signs point to him being the man for the job.
