
If the regular season ended today, the Packers would be safely inside the NFC Playoff bracket, and despite facing the NFL’s second-most difficult remaining schedule, Green Bay has a chance over the final five weeks to secure the No. 1 seed and homefield advantage throughout the playoffs.
Green Bay got some big help over the weekend, too.
According to NFL Media, the Packers have an 88% chance of making the postseason.
If the season ended today, Green Bay would open the postseason on the road against the Philadelphia Eagles, who ended the Packers’ season last year but have lost two consecutive games against the Dallas Cowboys and Bears.
Green Bay’s unblemished 3-0 record against NFC North opponents, and 6-2-1 record in the conference are significant boosts when it comes to tiebreaker scenarios and could push the Packers into a legitimate chance of securing homefield throughout the playoffs.
The New York Times’ playoff simulator gives Green Bay a 13% chance of securing the top seed, by season’s end.
If the Packers are going to win the division, it could come down to sweeping the Chicago Bears, who are currently the No. 1 seed.
