Packers QB Aaron Rodgers: Mystery toe injury will be 'OK'

Green Bay Packers starting quarterback Aaron Rodgers missed the 13-7 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs on Nov. 7 after he tested positive for COVID-19 as an unvaccinated player but returned for this past Sunday's 17-0 win over the Seattle Seahawks that improved the Packers to 8-2 on the season.

The Packers surprised some on Saturday, though, when they activated Rodgers off the reserve/COVID-19 list but added that he was dealing with a hurting toe that landed him on the injury report with no game-status designation. Per Josh Alper of Pro Football Talk, the reigning Most Valuable Player offered no specifics about how he suffered the setback while isolating away from the team during his weekly appearance on "The Pat McAfee Show" on Tuesday.

"A little painful, I think I’ll be OK," Rodgers said of the toe.

Rodgers completed 23-of-37 passes for 292 yards with no touchdowns and an interception in the win over Seattle on an afternoon where the 37-year-old didn't have to be at his absolute best. The Packers face the 4-5 Minnesota Vikings this coming Sunday and then host the 7-3 Los Angeles Rams before their bye, so Rodgers may have to play through some discomfort over his next eight quarters of action before he receives some extra rest following the Thanksgiving holiday.
