Packers QB Aaron Rodgers not interested in broadcasting career after retirement

Once Aaron Rodgers retires from football, he'll likely be sought after for a broadcasting career. Apparently, he'll never agree to be on television, though.

The Green Bay Packers quarterback said Tuesday on "The Pat McAfee Show" that he would rather focus on helping younger players once his career is over, shooting down any rumors that he'll become an NFL analyst.

"Well, I've given a lot to this game. I've been playing since I was in eighth grade. I've been playing 16 years, and I just feel like when I'm done I want to be done," Rodgers said, as transcribed by theScore. "I think it'd be fun to help out an age group that I feel like is real impressionable still, like high school kids. I think being able to, you know, just volunteer, help, or just help with some quarterback stuff, I think would be fun. Just because I love the game so much I don't want to totally get out of it, but as far as the pro level, yeah, I mean, I don't see myself doing anything with it."

Rodgers has said in the past that he plans to play football until he's at least 40 years old. The 36-year-old's current deal with Green Bay runs through the 2023 season, so it appears he'll be in the league until then.

While Rodgers doesn't want a broadcasting career, many former NFL players have gone on to be successful on either television or radio broadcasts. Former Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo is a fan-favorite alongside Jim Nantz on the CBS broadcasts and although he turned down a huge offer from ESPN, former Denver Broncos QB Peyton Manning hasn't ruled out a career in the booth.

Maybe Rodgers will change his mind at some point. After all, New Orleans Saints QB Drew Brees plans to have a broadcasting career after he retires.

For now, we'll just have to enjoy the rest of Rodgers' historic playing career.
