Packers QB Aaron Rodgers wins 2023 Pebble Beach Pro-Am

Aaron Rodgers had a busy week of golf.

Aaron Rodgers teamed up with PGA professional Ben Silverman this week for the 2023 Pebble Beach Pro-Am event. The annual event is made up of pairs of celebrities and PGA professionals. Rodgers had a pretty good weekend of golf, and he found ways to make headlines during the event.

Rodgers is rumored to have several NFL teams in trade talks. Rodgers dismissed one potential trade during the tournament. But he didn’t let talk of his future or trade rumors distract him from winning a major event in February.

According to the Pebble Beach Pro-Am Twitter account, Rodgers and Silverman won the Pro-Am tournament.

According to Wes Hodkiewicz with the Packers, Rodgers and Silverman finished 26-under par to win. And the final margin of victory was a nailbiter for the pair:

“The Packers’ quarterback and PGA professional Ben Silverman finished 26-under-par to win the 2023 Pebble Beach Pro-Am on California’s Monterey Peninsula, besting Peter Malnati and Don Colleran by one shot. The pro-am competition was shortened to 54 holes due to weather suspending play Saturday.

Rodgers, who carries a 10 handicap, had a large hand in his team’s victory, as Silverman missed the cut on the pro side with plus-1 through three rounds. Rodgers said Monday was the first time he’d picked up a club since reporting for training camp last July.

As winner of the event, the native Californian will have his name added to the Wall of Champions behind the first tee at Pebble Beach.”

Golf was a good way for the four-time MVP to clear his head before big football decisions are made this next week. Rodgers said on The Pat McAfee Show Tuesday that he planned to make his decision on retirement in a couple of weeks.

While the NFL world is speculating Aaron Rodgers will play in 2023, wide receivers around the league are recruiting the Packers quarterback to play in their city next season. But for now, Rodgers can celebrate a victory in late winter, even if it’s not the prize he wanted at the start of the 2022 season.
