Tom Clements has left quite the legacy in Green Bay.
He was the quarterbacks coach for Brett Favre, Aaron Rodgers, and Jordan Love.
He played a big part in developing all three into the quarterbacks they are today.
Clements came out of retirement to coach the Packers in 2022, Aaron Rodgers' final season in Green Bay.
The assumption was that once Rodgers was out of Green Bay, Clements would go back into retirement.
Instead, Jordan Love got the benefit of spending two mores seasons under Clements' tutelage.
Clements helped Love go from an uncertainty to a franchise quarterback with a big contract extension to prove it.
With this season in the books, however, Clements told LaFleur he was going back into retirement.
Clements leaves behind a legacy that includes coaching the three aforementioned quarterbacks, all of which have quoted him chapter and verse on one of his biggest lessons.
"Throwing late across the middle is a mortal sin," Clements would often tell his quarterback.
With Clements set to go back to the beach, the question now for LaFleur and his staff is who is going to replace the legendary quarterback coach.
One option is former NFL quarterback Sean Mannion, who has been serving in the role of offensive assistant.
Another interesting possibility would be the return of Luke Getsy to the fold.
Getsy was the quarterbacks coach under Nathaniel Hackett during Rodgers' MVP seasons of 2020 and 2021.
Getsy leaving to take the offensive coordinator role in Chicago under Matt Eberflus was the opening that allowed Clements to return to the staff.
Getsy spent time in Chicago and Las Vegas, but was recently seen in Green Bay in a role similar to the one that Robert Saleh had as a consultant.
Perhaps LaFleur would go back to the past to fill the void that Clements left.
