Jordan Love put in a noteworthy effort in his first game as the Green Bay Packers’ new cornerstone quarterback. The 24-year-old was impressive in his QB1 debut as he leads the charge for the team in the post-Aaron Rodgers era.

Rodgers, himself, could not have had a more terrible debut for his new team. It took him only four snaps in his first appearance in a New York Jets jersey to see his season come to a truly heart-rendering end.

Aaron Rodgers done for the season

Rodgers went down on Monday during New York’s opening drive against the Buffalo Bills courtesy of a Leonard Floyd sack. The 39-year-old had to be carted off the field with what was initially believed to be some sort of leg injury. As it turns out, Rodgers suffered a full rupture in his left Achilles – an injury that will now force him to miss the rest of the season.

It was a dark day not only for Rodgers and the Jets, but across the football world. This is one of the greatest quarterbacks this sport has ever seen and to watch him suffer such a significant injury at this point in his career is simply heartbreaking.

Green Bay Packers QB Jordan Love’s heartfelt message for Aaron Rodgers

Much like the rest of us, Jordan Love was also tuned in to Rodgers’ Jets debut. He, too, shared in the misery of the viewers upon realizing that this was anything but a minor knock for the four-time NFL MVP.

In a recent interview, Love said that seeing Rodgers go down like that “sucks.” He then offered his former mentor his full support in a heartfelt message:

“I can’t speak for him, but I know him,” Love said, via Green Bay beat reporter Ryan Wood of USA Today. “He’s a very competitive person, and I have no doubt he’ll be back. He’ll kill it in recovery and be back.”

There has been some talk about Rodgers potentially calling it a career after this injury. After all, a torn Achilles at 39 is no joke. However, if you ask Jordan Love, the Packers QB is adamant that A-Rod will be back on the field soon enough.
