The Green Bay Packers are still picking up the pieces in the aftermath of star tight end Tucker Kraft’s injury.
With Kraft done for the rest of the 2025 NFL season, he’s left a big hole in Green Bay’s attack. He still leads the team with 489 receiving yards to go with six touchdowns to his name. Only running back Josh Jacobs has more touchdowns this season than Kraft entering Week 9 of the campaign.
Green Bay still has options in the tight end room, and Luke Musgrave is expected to take over the TE1 role for the team going forward. It’s going to be a challenge for the former Oregon State Beavers star, but he has no other option but to step up and deliver once he gets looks from quarterback Jordan Love.
So far this season, Musgrave has only 88 receiving yards on nine receptions and 10 targets.
Ryan Wood of USA TODAY posted a short clip of Green Bay’s practice on Thursday, specifically one that shows Love making a short pass to Musgrave.
It was just a simple drill, but fans couldn’t help but react to it negatively, perhaps out of frustration overall with Green Bay’s offense.

“Even in practice all they trust Love to do is 5 yard dump offs
,” said a fan on X.
Another one said: “2 [expletive] YARDS. This proves that it’s MLF gameplay. They play like he has them practice. It’s not just JLove taking the easy throw. This is MLF development, what are we doing??”
From a commenter: “I am shocked he didn’t fall down running the route”
“What are the odds he falls after a catch in Monday?,” a social media user posted.
Via a different commenter: “Surprised he didn’t fall over.”
Said another: “Don’t send his [expletive] across the middle!”
Musgrave and the Packers can prove the naysayers wrong as soon as this coming Monday, when they face off against the Philadelphia Eagles, who started and ended Green Bay’s 2024 season with wins over LaFleur’s squad. The Eagles beat Green Bay in Brazil in Week 1 of last season and then again in the playoffs.
