Packers RB Josh Jacobs had his 'flu game' in win over Bengals

Green Bay Packers running back Josh Jacobs had a huge game in his team's win over the Cincinnati Bengals on Sunday, and the star running back did so while not feeling anywhere close to his best.

Jacobs rushed for 93 yards and two touchdowns in Green Bay's 27-18 win over the Bengals at Lambeau Field. The veteran added 57 receiving yards on five catches. Following the game, Jacobs revealed that he was battling an illness. He said he woke up feeling under the weather on Sunday morning and vomited both before and during the game. Jacobs said he wanted to play; however, he had a history of playing well even when feeling ill.

"I just kind of woke up this morning just not feeling my best," Jacobs told reporters, via ESPN's Rob Demovsky. "But I told 'em, 'The last time that I felt that way, I had 130 [yards] and two touchdowns.' So, it is what it is."

Jacobs could not recall the exact game when he had previously played through an illness, but he said it was when he was with the Las Vegas Raiders.

Josh Jacobs says his teammates were concerned

Jacobs was wearing a microphone for Sunday's game, so he says there may be some audio of what many are now calling his "flu game." The 27-year-old said his teammates were concerned about him.

"I was mic'ed up, so I don't know if they're going to put that in there or not," Jacobs said. "But it was a couple times I was on the field, I was like coughing, everybody like, 'Man, are you all right?' I'm like, 'We'll figure it out.'"

Jacobs added that he was "ready to go lay down" after the game ended. The Packers are certainly glad that Jacobs decided to play. They had a tougher time against Cincinnati than most people anticipated, with Joe Flacco keeping his new team in the game right until the finish.

Flacco threw a touchdown pass to Ja'Marr Chase with 4:11 remaining in the fourth quarter, which put the Bengals within one score. The Packers responded with a field-goal drive that put the game out of reach.
