Packers’ Receiving Corps Gets Early Worrying Sign vs. Jets
Packers' Receiving Corps Gets Early Worrying Sign vs. Jets 1 Wide receiver Romeo Doubs (87) leaves the field after getting injured on a pass interference play commited by San Francisco 49ers cornerback Renardo Green (0) in the third quarter during their football game Sunday, November 24, 2024, at Lambeau Field in Green Bay, Wisconsin.

A worrying trend continued for the Green Bay Packers’ receiving corps in Saturday’s dreadful 30-10 loss to the New York Jets.

Dropped passes marred quarterback Jordan Love and the first-team offense’s brief appearance after a season in which drops plagued some of the receivers atop Green Bay’s depth chart at receiver.

Packers Romeo Doubs Struggles in Preseason Debut

In a particularly worrying development for the Packers’ offense, Romeo Doubs dropped his lone target and the receiver finished out as one of Pro Football Focus’ lowest graded performers, with a meager 43.3 mark in the game.

Doubs’ drop and poor performance combined with Mecole Hardman’s disastrous mistake on special teams and lackluster showing in his offensive snaps don’t exactly inspire much confidence that this group is ready to take a major step forward.

It is only one preseason game, but the Packers are going to need much more out of the receiving corps if Love and Green Bay’s offense is going to lead a deep postseason charge in 2025.
