Packers reveal injury timeline for Jayden Reed

The Green Bay Packers did not make it through their Week 2 win over the Washington Commanders unscathed, with standout wide receiver Jayden Reed expected to be sidelined for the foreseeable future.

Reed left Thursday night’s contest early in the first quarter after hurting his collarbone on a contested 39-yard catch during the Packers’ opening drive at Lambeau Field in Green Bay, Wis. The play was later nullified due to an offensive holding call.

The third-year wideout was wrapped up by Commanders safety Quan Martin. The two were entangled as they crashed hard along the sideline near the end zone, with Reed’s collarbone violently slamming into the ground first.

Packers head coach Matt LaFleur spoke to reporters about Reed’s injury status after Green Bay’s 27-18 win over the Commanders. The veteran coach revealed that Reed is set for an extended stint on the injured reserve list with a fractured collarbone.

The positive news is that the team does expect Reed to return this season, with the Packers holding out hope that Reed can return in six to eight weeks. That would peg his return sometime in November.

Reed did not have any targets on record in Thursday’s contest. He tallied three catches for 45 yards and a touchdown in the Packers’ Week 1 win over the Detroit Lions.

Losing Reed for an extended period is a serious blow for a Packers team that has started off the 2025 season 2-0. The Michigan State alum led Green Bay in receptions and receiving yards in each of the past two seasons.
