The Green Bay Packers have a tasty matchup coming up in Week 3. After sharing Lambeau Field with the Detroit Lions and the Washington Commanders in Week 1 and Week 2, respectively, the Packers will be taking their first road game in the 2025 NFL season on Sunday versus the Cleveland Browns.
On paper, this looming showdown versus Myles Garrett and the Browns screams of a 3-0 record for Green Bay. The Browns are still winless after two weeks, and they are coming off a 41-17 walloping at the hands of the Baltimore Ravens.
Despite the Packers and the Browns heading in different directions in the standings at the moment, Green Bay can’t look past Cleveland. Even though they got blown out by the Ravens, the Browns have the ability to slow down opposing offenses. As long as Garrett is prowling in the trenches, Jordan Love can never feel absolute safety in the pocket.
Sunday’s meeting between the Packers and the Browns at Huntington Bank Field in Cleveland is Green Bay’s earliest visit to The Land in a season since 1972, when the two teams locked horns in a Week 1 contest at the now-demolished Cleveland Municipal Stadium.
For what it’s worth, the Packers won that game, 26-10. Quarterback Scott Hunter passed for 150 yards and two touchdowns, which were both caught by tight end Rich McGeorge.
Green Bay has won all of its last four meetings with the Browns and is 6-1 in the last seven games in this head-to-head.
After Week 3, the Packers will head to Arlington for another road game, which will be against Micah Parsons’ former team, the Dallas Cowboys.
