Green Bay Packers rookie wide receiver Matthew Golden signed his NFL rookie contract last week. After being selected 23rd overall in the 2025 NFL Draft, Golden inked his deal totaling $17.5M over four years and with a signing bonus of $9.4M.

Looking ahead, Golden already has plans for what he wants to do with his multi-million-dollar bonus.

As the recent draft picks sign their rookie deals across the league, many will be dreaming of what they can do with their newfound wealth. For Golden, there’s no imagination necessary in terms of plotting his first steps. He already has a project in mind, which involves re-purchasing his childhood home.

Golden was raised in the home, owned by his grandmother. The family lost the home several years ago, but with his new millions, Golden is intent on getting it back.

Even prior to joining the Packers, Golden had his heart set on the move. In an interview with On3 prior to the draft, Golden affirmed that it was his No. 1 goal after being drafted.

“Definitely get my grandma a house, man. We lost our property a couple of years ago. That’s somewhere I grew up when I was younger. It’d be a blessing to be able to get that back for my family. That’s where they all grew up, that’s where I grew up.”

Family clearly means a lot to Golden. To own his childhood home is a truly special thing for him. As he begins his pro journey, it is very apparent that he is doing it not only to pursue his own dream and put on a show for the fans, but to support and represent his loved ones.
