Packers show confidence in Tucker Kraft with massive extension

It's not very common to see a player coming off a torn ACL receive a massive contract extension.

In the case of Green Bay Packers star tight end Tucker Kraft, though, that is exactly what took place just ahead of a Week 1 showdown against the division rival Minnesota Vikings.

Tucker Kraft agrees to a monster contract extension with Packers

According to NFL insider Adam Schefter, Kraft and Green Bay have agreed to a four-year, $75 million extension through the 2030 season.

Kraft's extension can get up to $92 million and also includes a $26.5 million signing bonus. The deal now makes him the third highest paid tight end in total value ($75 million) and fourth highest paid by AAV ($18.75 million).

Tucker Kraft has become a top-five tight end when healthy

Kraft will be returning to the field in Week 1 this season after suffering an ACL tear that ended his 2025 season. Prior to his injury last season and in 2024, Kraft was becoming one of the top tight ends in the league.

In his previous 25 games, Kraft hauled in 82 catches for 1,196 yards with 13 touchdowns. Kraft collected his first 100-yard game last season and was on pace to haul in double digit touchdowns.

Health will be the most important thing for the Packers offense

Year after year, it seems that the Green Bay offense deals with injuries to its skill position players. Whether that be any of its receivers or Kraft for example last season, quarterback Jordan Love is always losing key weapons throughout the season.

The path to success for the Packers this season is for health across the board and for Love to have his weapons to throw to all season long.
