The Green Bay Packers ’ offense suffered a significant blow when wide receiver Jayden Reed suffered a broken collarbone in Week 2, but he got some unfortunate company on Green Bay’s injury report.
Monday, the Packers returned to practice without several key players and with others listed as limited participants.
As the Packers begin preparation for Week 3 against the Cleveland Browns, The Athletic's Matt Schneidman reports that left guard Aaron Banks, starting right tackle Zach Tom and cornerback Bo Melton were not practicing at the start of Monday’s practice. Tom and Melton were wearing helmets while rehabbing, per Schneidman.
Green Bay’s offensive line has been wildly inconsistent through the first two games, and if Banks and Tom are able to return to action soon, it would be a significant boost for quarterback Jordan Love and the rest of the offense.
Fortunately for the Packers, the secondary has been a strength, which softens some of the blow of Melton being sidelined.
