Packers' Tucker Kraft gets massive contract extension prediction

The Green Bay Packers already got a big deal done with one of their pass-catching stars this offseason.

Despite major injury concerns, they signed WR Christian Watson to a four-year, $110.5 million extension that includes $31 million guaranteed.

Now, they can move on with another star pass catcher who's dealing with some injury red flags of his own.

According to NFL Network insider Ian Rapoport, the Packers will make star TE Tucker Kraft the highest-paid tight end in the league.

Tucker Kraft will reset the TE market

“I would consider Tucker Kraft a big time priority for the Green Bay Packers,” Rapoport said (h/t Sleeper NFL). “You’re talking about a guy who will probably reset the TE market.”

As things stand now, San Francisco 49ers star George Kittle is the league's top earner at the position, according to Over The Cap. 

He has a total value of $ 76.4 million and an annual average value of $19.1 million. He also has the most fully guaranteed money at $35 million and the second-most total guaranteed behind Trey McBride's $43 million.

Kraft has gotten better every year, and he was on the verge of a breakout year before suffering a season-ending ACL injury in his right knee in Week 9.

However, he has no history of injuries and is widely expected to be back to full strength for the start of the season. 

This will be a risky move, but after locking up Watson, it's clear that the Packers won't let that scare them away from getting a deal done.
