The Green Bay Packers are on a mission to get back to their winning ways when they share the field this Sunday with the Dallas Cowboys in a high-profile matchup between rivals for Week 4’s edition of “Sunday Night Football.”
The Packers got tripped up by the Cleveland Browns in Week 3, where Green Bay’s defense did most of the heavy lifting for the team while Jordan Love and company struggled to find their rhythm.
The Packers actually went 10-for-18 on third downs in the Browns game, but generated just 230 total yards. Their rushing attack was held to just 81 rushing yards on 31 carries, while Love threw an interception and got sacked five times for a loss of 34 yards.
Green Bay tight end Tucker Kraft had seen enough in that loss to the Browns to urge his team’s offense to try to keep up with Micah Parsons and the Packers’ stop unit.
“We have the best defense in the NFL. We have to help ‘em out,” Kraft said on Thursday, per Matt Schneidman of The Athletic.
Dallas’ seemingly leaky defense presents a tasty opportunity for Green Bay’s offense to fly again. The Packers scored 27 points in each of their first two games in the 2025 NFL regular season but bled for 10 points in the loss to Cleveland. The Browns’ defense, however, is arguably the best in the league.
But with Green Bay’s offensive line missing some key players to injuries, thwarting Dallas’ defense could turn out to be a harder task for Love and company.
As for the Cowboys, they just gave up 31 points to Caleb Williams and the Chicago Bears in a Week 3 loss last Sunday. Moreover, Dallas is 27th in the NFL with 30.7 points allowed per game and 30th with 397.7 total yards surrendered per contest.
