Packers WR set to undergo season-ending surgery

The injury blows keep coming for the Green Bay Packers, and this time at the wide receiver position.

On Wednesday, the Packers placed Jayden Reed on IR, and Reed posted a somber message on Instagram.

“God will use the unusual to do the unexpected…11 out.”

Right after that, Packers coach Matt LaFleur announced that Reed will undergo season-ending surgery.

The Packers gave Reed a three-year contract extension this offseason worth $50.2 million. However, he caught just 4 passes for 24 yards in two games this season.

Reed was ruled out for Week 3, and he is now out for the season after having to undergo another surgery.

Last September, Reed had surgery for a broken collarbone, and he played just 7 games total in the 2025 season.

Reed was hit hard in the game against the New York Jets in Week 2 and he was carted off the field and did not return.

Green Bay has gotten off to a disappointing 1-2 start, and the offense has also struggled. With Reed now out for the season, some WR options to step up include rookie J. Michael Sturdivant.
