There is no place like home.

After the Carolina Panthers released Vonn Bell Wednesday, in a flurry of moves that saw the Panthers release tight end Hayden Hurst and center Bradley Bozeman, Bell is headed home – sort of.

Bell agreed to terms with the Cincinnati Bengals, marking his return to the Panthers' AFC rival one season removed from playing in southern Ohio, Bell's agent David Canter announced Thursday

Bell's time with the Panthers was disappointing. In the 2023 season, he recorded a career-low 63 total tackles. He also had one interception and two passes defended.

Bell appeared in 13 games, the lowest mark of his career since the 2019 season with the New Orleans Saints

The 29-year-old played for the Bengals during the 2020, 2021 and 2022 seasons. They were some of the most consistent years of his eight-year NFL career.

As Dan Morgan rebuilds the Panthers roster, it was time for him to part ways with an NFL veteran who wasn't producing during one of the worst Panthers seasons known to memory.
