The Carolina Panthers won three straight games before getting humbled by the Buffalo Bills in Week 8, but they could make a statement against the Green Bay Packers on Sunday.
Quarterback Bryce Young and company haven't beaten a team that currently has a .500 record or above all season. They defeated the Atlanta Falcons (3-4), the Miami Dolphins (2-7), Dallas Cowboys (3-4-1), and New York Jets (1-7), but lost to the Jacksonville Jaguars (4-3), New England Patriots (6-2), and Buffalo Bills (5-2). However, Young missed the latter game with an ankle injury.
Carolina revealed an update about the 5-foot-10, 204-pounder on Friday, via Darin Gantt of the team's website.
"Starting quarterback Bryce Young (ankle) has no injury designation, meaning he's good to go," Gantt wrote.
Panthers head coach Dave Canales spoke about Young's improved mobility throughout the week, via Gantt.
"Better and better, handled the week really well," he said. "Each day just kind of ramped up some of the things we were exposing him to. He looked awesome, working with these guys, just getting in there, reading, communicating, and physically just looked like he's ready to go."

Carolina is 4-4 after losing 40-9 to Buffalo last game, good for second place in the NFC South. A win against Green Bay would put them 1.5 games behind the Tampa Bay Buccaneers for first, who are on bye.
However, beating the Packers on the road is a difficult assignment. They're 5-1-1 and ranked sixth in total defense this season, per ESPN. They're also seventh in total offense and 3-0 at home.
That's why Young could boost his stock by leading the Panthers to a win. The 24-year-old has yet to prove that he's their long-term answer under center, as he ranks 23rd with a 44.9 ESPN QBR this season and 25th with 1,288 passing yards. His QBR is lower than last year, when he finished with a 50.7 mark over 14 games.
Conversely, Carolina ranks fifth in rushing thanks largely to veteran Rico Dowdle, who ranks seventh with 605 yards on the ground. If it establishes the run to start the contest on Sunday, that could open up the passing game for Young, which would help him perform well against the NFC's current No. 1 team.
The game will start at 1:00 p.m. ET on Fox and will be played in Green Bay's Lambeau Field.
