When Carolina Panthers edge-rusher Brian Burns entered the NFL in 2019 as a rookie, he named Tom Brady as the quarterback he couldn't wait to sack.
On Sunday, he finally did it.
Burns and the Panthers' defense shut Brady down in a 21-3 win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The 2021 Pro Bowler finished with five tackles (two for loss) and his prized sack of Brady.

When asked about the sack he's wanted for so long, Burns replied, "The G.O.A.T. got caught in the web."
Burns did have one regret - not doing his celebrations after taking Brady down.
"Next time I get him I gotta do my celebration," Burns said. "I messed up because I was too excited. I'm gonna fix that part, we gotta get him again."
The 24-year-old has been the subject of trade speculation ahead of the November 1 deadline. And while the Panthers seem to be in fire sale mode after dealing star running back Christian McCaffrey earlier this week, the price for Burns is reportedly high.
According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, the Panther rejected an offer of two 1st-round picks in exchange for Burns. The Kansas City Chiefs, Philadelphia Eagles, and Los Angeles Rams are rumored to be interested in the fourth-year pro.
