The Carolina Panthers own the No. 6 overall pick in this month's NFL Draft. However, according to NFL Network's Mike Giardi, the Panthers have engaged in talks with several teams about trading back from the sixth spot.
"Important to note that, per league sources, the Panthers have talked to numerous teams about moving back from 6," Giardi tweeted. "Picking a QB in top 10 might be too much but picking one in them mid first is more palatable and gets them more draft capital."
The Panthers are low on draft capital, heading into the draft with only six picks. Furthermore, after their first-round selection, Carolina doesn't have another choice until the fourth round. They have picks in the first (6), fourth (137), sixth (199) and seventh rounds (242), with two selections in the fifth round (144, 149).
Carolina is searching for their next franchise quarterback, and they've already hosted several quarterbacks ahead of the draft. The most recent to visit was Pittsburgh quarterback Kenny Pickett on Wednesday.

Last season, the Panthers started three different quarterbacks, including Sam Darnold (11), Cam Newton (5) and P.J. Walker (1). Darnold made the bulk of the starts, going 4-7, throwing for 2,527 yards, nine touchdowns and 13 interceptions.
