The Carolina Panthers announced they have placed RT Taylor Moton on injured reserve.

The Panthers signed OLB Nick Hampton from the practice squad to the active roster to fill the spot, and signed LB Ja’Markis Weston to the practice squad.

Moton suffered a fractured fibula in his second game back from being on the NFI list this offseason due to a blood clot.

Moton, 31, was drafted by the Panthers in the second round out of Western Michigan in 2017. He was set to become an unrestricted free agent after finishing his four-year, $4.158 million rookie deal, but Carolina franchised Moton in 2021 and signed him to a four-year, $72 million deal.

Moton has restructured his contract multiple times in recent years and eventually re-signed with Carolina before last season to a two-year, $44 million extension through 2027.

In 2025, Moton played in 16 games for the Panthers and started 15 at right tackle.

In 2026, Moton has played in only two games.
