Most second-year wide receivers focus on route trees, film study, and perfecting their release. But Xavier Legette? He just added “music video heartthrob” to his growing résumé.

The 24-year-old Carolina Panthers wideout has stepped into a spotlight few NFL players ever do, starring as the romantic lead in GloRilla’s sizzling new music video, Typa, which dropped recently and already has fans talking. And no, this isn’t a blink-and-you-miss-it cameo. Legette takes center stage in a series of steamy scenes that have sparked headlines, social media speculation, and a surprising new level of celebrity.

At one point in the video, the shirtless 6’1”, 221-pound receiver shares an intimate moment with the Grammy-nominated rapper, whose song samples Keyshia Cole’s hit Love. Their chemistry is undeniable, and it didn’t take long for rumors to swirl online.

The former South Carolina Gamecock made waves in 2024 with 497 receiving yards and 4 touchdowns as a rookie. But now, he’s building a personal brand that goes beyond the gridiron. It’s a savvy move in today’s NFL, where players who build their off-field image can increase endorsement value and fan reach. Think Travis Kelce, but with a Southern drawl and a taste for raccoon (yes, really! Look it up).
