Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs suffered their first defeat of the 2026 NFL season on Sunday, falling to 5-1 after a 20-3 loss to Sam Darnold and the reigning Super Bowl champion Seattle Seahawks. Now, the Chiefs will look to get back on track with another tough task ahead in Week 8, facing Bo Nix and the Denver Broncos on the road.
Outside of the Seahawks game, Mahomes has found success to begin his 10th NFL season. The former Texas Tech quarterback has completed 124-of-191 passes for 1,474 yards, nine touchdowns and four interceptions. But Mahomes has done much more than just football during his career, co-owning numerous sports franchises such as the Kansas City Royals and Sporting Kansas City.
And in 2019, before his second season as the Chiefs’ starting quarterback, Mahomes and his wife Brittany founded the 15 and the Mahomies Foundation, which aims to improve the lives of children through health and wellness initiatives.
And following Week 7, the 15 and the Mahomies Foundation publicized a new initiative with Food Allergy Research & Development (FARE) called 15 and FARE. The initiative aims to bring “FARE Neighborhoods to the Kansas City area to reduce inequities in access to care, support, and resources for those with food allergies living in marginalized communities.”
15 and FARE will also provide academy training for the staff of certain food banks, pantries and restaurants in the community, hoping to keep food allergy patients safer. And on Tuesday, it was revealed that the first “15 and FARE Restaurant Partner” is Joe’s Kansas City Bar-B-Que
“We are really proud today to post this sign up,” Joe’s BBQ wrote on Instagram. “Joe’s is the first restaurant to be recognized as 15 & Fare approved. Over the past two years our managment staff in our restaurants have become certified in food allergy prep & handling. This initiative was started by @patrickmahomes & @brittanylynne and their charity @15andMahomies. Now we want others to join us! We’ll be sharing soon how other restaurants can join 15 & Fare!”
Mahomes also revealed the new 15 and FARE initiative on Tuesday by sharing Joe’s BBQ’s post on his Instagram Story.
Mahomes and the Chiefs will face the Broncos on Sunday at 4:25 p.m. ET.
