Kansas City Chiefs star quarterback Patrick Mahomes has established himself as one of the best players in the NFL during his nine-year career in the league. During his time with the Chiefs, Mahomes has started 126 games, totaling 35,939 passing yards, 267 passing touchdowns and 85 interceptions. His 285.2 yards per game are the most in NFL history.

The former 10th overall pick in the 2017 NFL Draft has made six Pro Bowl appearances, won two AP NFL MVP awards and three Super Bowls in his illustrious career.

Mahomes, who turned 30 years old during the 2025 season, had a down year, along with his team. The Chiefs finished the season with a 6-11 record, missing the playoffs for the first time since the 2014 season.

In 14 games, Mahomes completed 62.7% of his passes for 3,587 yards and 22 touchdowns with 11 interceptions this past season. His year came to a premature end, though, as he tore his ACL and LCL in a Week 14 loss to the Los Angeles Chargers.

This is the first severe injury of Mahomes' career, as he has started at least 14 games every season since becoming Kansas City's starter in 2018.

While his play on the field is what has made him a household name, Mahomes is very active in the advertising space as well. He has appeared in commercials for several brands throughout his career, including, most notably, State Farm. On Friday, the Sports Business Journal wrote that one commercial Mahomes was in recently was taken down shortly after his injury.

"State Farm did not 'wait long in taking down' a commercial involving Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes being treated for an injury, according to Pete Grathoff of the K.C. STAR," per SBJ. "According to iSpot, the ad, which involves Mahomes visiting trainers, 'last aired on Dec. 16,' two days after Mahomes injured his knee against the Chargers."

The commercial involves American singer-songwriter Meghan Trainor treating Mahomes, as a play on words with her name. SBJ wrote that the advertisement made over 900 million impressions on TV.

The video of the commercial is still up on YouTube, but has been pulled from TV. State Farm did not respond to a comment request about the situation, according to SBJ.
