Xavier Worthy’s shoulder is no longer the primary unknown in the Kansas City Chiefs’ receiving room and the timing could not be more critical.
Through four games, Worthy has 13 catches (22 targets) for 145 yards and one receiving touchdown, as well as 53 rushing yards on five carries and a handful of explosive plays (a 37‑yard long and a 5‑for‑83 line vs. the Baltimore Ravens).
Worthy, who sustained a shoulder injury in Week 1, missed the following two weeks and has repeatedly appeared on Kansas City’s injury reports, said Wednesday he "feels good and can hardly even tell the shoulder is hurt."
So, after a two-reception, 20-yard performance against the Detroit Lions on Sunday, Worthy could be back to his old self when the Chiefs host the Las Vegas Raiders in Week 7.

The timing matters because Rashee Rice is expected to clear his six‑game suspension and be available for Week 7 as well and the Chiefs have reportedly already signaled a desire to deploy Rice immediately as a heavy‑usage perimeter target.
If Rice is activated as planned, Kansas City would have a five‑man receiving group — Rice, Worthy, Hollywood Brown, Tyquan Thornton and JuJu Smith‑Schuster — capable of expanding the field and testing the Raiders' middle-of-the-pack secondary.
Kansas City (3–3) comes into Sunday’s divisional matchup with the Raiders after a primetime victory over the Lions, a game in which Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes completed 22-of-30 passes for 257 yards and three passing touchdowns, as well as 32 rushing yards and one score on the ground.
On the season, Mahomes has thrown for 1,514 passing yards (6th in NFL), 11 passing touchdowns (4th) and has a 72.3 QBR (4th).
With Mahomes playing some of the best football of his career, having Worthy healthy and Rice back in the lineup will only further elevate the Chiefs' passing attack.
Kansas City (-1000) enters as a 12.5-point favorite with a 45.5-point over/under at ESPN Bet.
