Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs ended a two-game skid in Week 12, moving to 6-5 on the 2025 NFL season after a 23-20 overtime win against Jonathan Taylor and the Indianapolis Colts. Despite the win, Mahomes didn't have his best game statistically, completing 29-of-46 passes for 352 yards and an interception.

Still, Mahomes was able to lead the Chiefs to a come-from-behind win, driving Kansas City down the field to set up a Harrison Butker game-tying field goal as regulation expired. The former Texas Tech quarterback went on to guide the Chiefs to another scoring drive in overtime, ending the game with Butker's fifth field goal of the day, securing the victory.

But Mahomes was forced to do it without Pro Bowl right guard Trey Smith, who suffered an ankle injury in the second quarter and missed the rest of the game. And on the final drive of regulation, tight end Noah Gray entered the concussion protocol after hitting his head on the turf, leaving Mahomes without his second tight end for the remainder of the drive and overtime.

Following the game, Chiefs coach Andy Reid provided an update on both Smith and Gray. Reid also noted that cornerback Christian Roland-Wallace suffered an injury of his own, hurting his lower back.

"Trey Smith hurt his ankle," Reid said. "We'll see how it is as days go forward. Roland-Wallace hurt his lower back... Noah got hit in the head. He'll go through evaluations there."

Mahomes and the Chiefs will have just a few days off before their Week 13 Thanksgiving matchup against Dak Prescott and the Dallas Cowboys on Thursday at 4:30 p.m. ET. And the quarterback will hope that Smith and Gray's injuries are nothing serious.
