Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes' father has been in a lot of news over the years. Patrick Mahomes Sr. is a former Major League Baseball player who has been in legal trouble quite a bit.

Mahomes Sr. is currently still dealing with the repercussions of a DWI case that he worked out a plea agreement to in Texas.

In order to travel anywhere outside of the state, he has to receive permission from his probation officer.

This week, there is a charity golfing event in Las Vegas that Mahomes is hosting. Mahomes Sr. has been hoping to go to that even and an answer has now been given. He will be allowed to attend his son's charity event.

According to TMZ Sports, Mahomes Sr. has asked for and been granted permission to travel to Las Vegas for the golfing event.

"Patrick Mahomes Sr. will be allowed to watch his son tee off for a good cause this week," they wrote. "TMZ Sports has learned authorities in Texas have given the elder Mahomes permission to attend Patrick Mahomes II's charity golf event in Vegas."

As part of the agreement to go to Las Vegas, Mahomes Sr. will be in town from Wednesday to Sunday, but will have to submit to a urine test when he returns home.

TMZ also shared that Mahomes Sr. had to receive permission to go to an autograph show in Minnesota back in March 2025. That went smoothly for him as well.

Throughout his MLB career, Mahomes Sr. appeared in 308 games. He compiled a 42-39 overall record to go along with a 5.47 ERA, a 1.59 WHIP, a 1.2 K/BB ratio, and 709 innings pitched.
