It's being reported that Patrick Mahomes' father has been arrested this Tuesday.
Patrick Mahomes Sr. was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated in 2024. This happened right before the Kansas City Chiefs faced the San Francisco 49ers in the Super Bowl. As part of his plea deal, the former New York Mets pitcher received five years of probation and one year of intense supervision.
Unfortunately, the latest update on Mahomes Sr. isn't ideal at all. According to multiple reports, he was booked at Smith County Jail this week for violating his probation.
"The 55-year-old former MLB player was booked in Smith County Jail hours ago ... and he didn't look too thrilled as he posed for another mugshot," TMZ wrote. "The District Attorney confirmed to us Mahomes Sr. was jailed for a probation violation ... with locals reporting he drank booze."
Mahomes Sr. was also arrested for DWI back in September 2008 and February 2019.
Prior to the start of the 2025 NFL season, ESPN covered the Chiefs' quest for a three-peat in a docuseries called "The Kingdom." The three-time Super Bowl champion revealed that he was hurt by his father's DUI arrest in 2024.
“It was during that Super Bowl week. It became a story and so I had to answer questions about it,” Mahomes said. “I think just knowing that it hurt me, woke him up to know that like you can’t keep doing the same things.”
Mahomes has not yet commented on his father's latest arrest. He's currently rehabbing from a torn ACL.
