Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs continue to find ways to win, and Saturday afternoon was no different. For the 11th time during the 2024 NFL season, the Chiefs secured a one-possession victory, defeating the Houston Texans 27-19 at GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium.
In Week 15, Mahomes left the game against the Browns late after suffering an ankle injury, giving a scare to Chiefs fans. However, despite the initial concern, the former Texas Tech star was ruled available for Saturday's game a few days prior, and he certainly didn't play like someone with an ankle issue.
After the game, Mahomes spoke to the media during a press conference where he discussed playing through the injury.
"Yeah, I ask a lot from the guys around me," Mahomes said. "So, I feel like if I’m going to ask them to play through pain, if I’m going to ask them to play through little knicks and bruises and stuff like that, I have to do it as well. That’s something that I pride myself on is being out there with my guys and playing football. And I’m not going to put us in a position to be in a bad spot or lose a football game, but if I can feel like I can compete and win, I’m going to be out on that football field.”

NFL fans loved what Mahomes had to say following the win, taking to social media to applaud the two-time NFL MVP.
"Leadership," one fan stated.
"A real leader," said a second.
"GOAT stuff," wrote a third.
"leadership is really important — very glad to have guys like 15, 87 and 95 leading our team," added another with a clapping emoji.
"I would run through a Mfing brick wall for this dude," commented a fifth.
"My QB," posted a sixth.
Mahomes finished the day with 260 passing yards and one touchdown while adding five carries for 33 yards and another score on the ground.
Up next for the 14-1 Chiefs is the Pittsburgh Steelers on Christmas Day.
