Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs improved to 3-3 following their Week 6 win over a red-hot Detroit Lions side. Mahomes led the Chiefs with 22-of-30 completed passes for 257 yards and three touchdowns, along with 10 carries for 32 yards and a rushing touchdown. Despite a strong challenge from the Lions, it was the Chiefs that prevailed, 30-17.
Kansas City will be back in action on Sunday in another home game at Arrowhead Stadium. They face Maxx Crosby and the 2-4 Las Vegas Raiders, who are also coming off a Week 6 victory over the Tennessee Titans, 20-10.
Mahomes will be looking to secure a second straight win for the Chiefs when they face the Raiders on Sunday. Crosby, on the other hand, will do everything in his power to make sure that this isn’t the case.
Crosby is one of the best players on the Vegas roster. He’s been with the team since 2019, spending his entire seven-year career with the Raiders. The former Eastern Michigan Eagles star defensive end is coming off four straight Pro Bowl selections. This season, Crosby has already registered 25 combined tackles (17 solo) and one interception.
Mahomes spoke to the press on Wednesday, and the Chiefs star had quite a lot to say about Crosby, whom he considers to be a friend.
“It's a ton of respect," Mahomes said. "Like you said, when I talk to him outside of football, it's like we're friends. You wouldn't even see what happens on the football field.
"But he's the type of competitor like me. When we're on that football field, it's whatever it takes to win. You're going to leave everything on the football field, and I have a ton of respect for that.
"Those are the guys that you want on your team because they play with that mentality. He's trying to do that and build that culture there, and so I know when we step across that line and on that football field, it's going to take your best effort to find a way to go up against that guy."

As Mahomes indicated, all the pleasantries will be set aside once the game kicks off. They may be good friends, but the competitive spirit between these two stars will force their personal relationship to take a backseat. As Sunday approaches, both players will do everything they can to ensure only one of them comes out on top.
Kickoff from Arrowhead is scheduled at 1:00 p.m. ET and will be broadcast via CBS.
