Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes has been a part of some historic performances, but what he witnessed Monday left him without words.
Arkansas right-hander Gage Wood, MLB Pipeline's No. 50 Draft prospect, not only recorded the third no-hitter in Men's College World Series history against Murray State, but he set the record for strikeouts in a nine-inning CWS game with 19 and was a hit-by-pitch away from recording a perfect game.
Following Wood's performance, Mahomes, who played baseball briefly at Texas Tech, reacted simply on 'X' with three 'exploding-head' emojis.

Understandably, Mahomes wasn't the only notable figure to weigh in on Wood's historic game.
"GAGE WOOD YOU WILL BE REMEMBERED FOREVER," ESPN's Pat McAfee wrote in all caps.
"What a great win for our baseball team today! Wish I could’ve been there. Only the third no hitter in Men’s College World Series history, incredible outing by Gage Wood. 19 strikeouts!" Arkansas Men's basketball head coach John Calipari wrote.
Following the game, Wood was asked by an ESPN reporter to describe his emotions after his historic outing and replied with an epic six-word response.
"I shouldn't have hit the guy." Wood said, referring to Racers second baseman Dom Decker, who Wood regrettably hit with a pitch in the bottom of the eighth ending his perfect game bid.
With the victory, Arkansas, who lost to LSU on Saturday to open the College World Series, moves on to face the loser of Monday night's UCLA-LSU game.
"Now it is there for the taking!" Calipari added. "I have been watching all season and what a fun team to follow. Go do it men! Keep having fun and get another W, we will be watching!"
