Graham Walker has an opportunity to join a well-known family member on the Kansas City Chiefs.

Walker, the half brother of Patrick Mahomes, was one of 87 players invited to Kansas City's rookie minicamp. The former Rice tight end is among 60 undrafted rookies fighting to get noticed.

Chiefs Digest's Matt Derrick shared a video of Walker, wearing No. 89, catching a pass during one of Sunday's drills.

Walker began his college career at Brown, where he registered 127 receptions for 1,496 yards and 15 touchdowns during three seasons. He tallied 252 yards and no scores during his senior year at Rice.

Mahomes and Walker share a father, Patrick Mahomes Sr., but the latter was primarily raised by his mother, Jessamyn Walker, and stepfather, Gerry Howatt, in Vermont. Yet both brothers are represented by Equity Sports, and Walker said he hears from the MVP quarterback about his play.

"I know Patrick has been watching the games, and he's reached out and said the good things that I've been doing," Graham told the Vermont Independent Voice's Clayton Trutor last month. "When someone who's accomplished so much can say you're doing well, it really feels good."

Like several successful tight ends, the 6-foot-3 prospect played varsity basketball in college. Brown wide receivers coach Eric Bunker praised his ability to win jump balls.

"Any ball up in the air is his," Bunker said. "That's Graham's superpower: His size and athleticism enable him to box guys out and get the ball."

Walker described himself as "a tight end who has the skills of a wide receiver." The Chiefs invited 13 wide receivers and five tight ends to their rookie minicamp after signing three undrafted wideouts and two tight ends.

Kansas City also drafted wide receiver Jalen Royals in the fourth round. The defending AFC champions will look to uncover a hidden gem for Mahomes, who averaged a career-low 6.8 yards per pass attempt last season.
