Patrick Mahomes is on a bizarre path through six seasons that ties him to the greatest of all time
Tommy Gilligan-USA TODAY Sports

Some counted out Patrick Mahomes with a chance to go to the Super Bowl on the line and he proved that to be foolish once again.

Mahomes and the Chiefs took care of business against the top-seeded Baltimore Ravens and will play the San Francisco 49ers for the Lombardi Trophy.

As a rookie back in 2017, Mahomes played in just one game, and looking back that is the best thing that the organization could have ever done for him. Through his first six seasons, Mahomes is on a path that looks a lot like the one Tom Brady was on.

Mahomes has 72 wins in the regular season and 14 wins in the playoffs. Brady had 70 and 12 through his first six seasons.

To this point, Mahomes has already won four conference championships and that is a game that you can book him in each year. The Chiefs have played for a spot in the Super Bowl every season since 2017 and that goes to show the dominance they’ve brought upon the AFC.

Brady had three Super Bowls through six full seasons and Mahomes is one quarter from capturing his third. What we’re seeing is a pleasure to watch for any true football fan. We are all witnessing one of the best to ever play it in his peak form perhaps.

As Brady did at times, Mahomes is taking a less-than-well-known wideout group to the Super Bowl this season. We have to enjoy these players for as long as they play because they don’t come around all that often. No. 15 in a Chiefs’ uniform just happens to be on track to be the greatest you’ve watched.
