Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce led the Kansas City Chiefs to a 31-0 blowout win over the Las Vegas Raiders on Sunday. Mahomes registered 26-of-35 completed passes for 286 yards and three touchdowns, along with four carries for 28 rushing yards. Kelce, on the other hand, caught four passes for a game-high 54 yards.
This was a big win for the Chiefs, and without a doubt their most dominant one of the season thus far — against one of their most bitter rivals, no less. That’s now two straight wins for Kansas City, as it improves to 4-3 on the season.
It was another strong performance for Mahomes, who is on pace to have another incredible campaign. Entering Sunday’s contest, the two-time All-Pro quarterback had already logged 138-of-213 completed passes (64.8%) for 1,514 yards and 11 touchdowns.
Mahomes got one of his most potent weapons back on Sunday as well, with Rashee Rice returning after a six-game suspension from the NFL. This development immediately paid dividends for the Chiefs, with Rice scoring two touchdowns in his highly anticipated return.
Kelce, who has two touchdowns to his name this season, spoke to the press after the game to discuss the victory. The 10-time Pro Bowler had nothing but good things to say about Mahomes and how the QB continues to set the tone for this squad.
"He's just always going to make sure that he's doing what he can to get better," Kelce said of Mahomes. "That's why I love playing with him. This team is going to keep getting better throughout the years is because we all kind of have that mentality.
"Day in, day out, week in, week out, we make sure that we keep getting better every single time. ... It's one of those things where you see Pat doing it, that sets the tempo.”
Kelce then expressed how Mahomes continues to leave him in disbelief now that they’re in their ninth year together with the Chiefs.
"It blows me away how good that guy can be and how prepared he always is," Kelce declared.

Mahomes has been a model of consistency through the years. Since joining the Chiefs in 2017, the former Texas Tech Red Raiders star has worked his way towards establishing himself as one of the top quarterbacks in the NFL.
Over that span, Mahomes has amassed six Pro Bowl nods, two SN Offensive Player of the Year titles, two MVP wins and three Super Bowl championships. As Kelce said, a lot of this stems from Mahomes' hard work behind the scenes to ensure he's 100% prepared come game time.
Up next for the Chiefs is the Washington Commanders. It's another home game at Arrowhead Stadium on Sunday as Mahomes goes up against one of the most promising young quarterbacks in the league in Jayden Daniels.
